The Problem: You’re Not in Alignment With Your Coaching Business

You might be working hard, putting in long days, and doing everything within your power to will your coaching business to success.

But here’s the problem—if you’re struggling to make progress, it’s most likely because you’re out of alignment with your coaching business.

What does it mean to be out of alignment with your coaching business?

It means that, instead of working in flow with your business, you’re swimming upstream. And guess what? It’s causing you to work harder and harder, and it’s bringing you more and more stress.

And if you’re not aligned with your business, you probably land in one or more of the following camps:

1. You’re Completely Overwhelmed

Lindsey, I have so much on my plate—beyond the coaching itself, there’s copywriting, running ads, creating coaching programs, crafting lead magnets, managing virtual assistants, and more.

1. Trust Yourself

Let’s get one thing straight. You’re an entrepreneur, and that means you’re cut from amazing cloth!

You know what you’re doing. You don’t need to ride the coattails of another entrepreneur. You’re fully capable of making your own decisions, troubleshooting issues that come up, and forging your own path.

Here’s the deal. The online coaching business is exploding. There is no one way to grow a successful coaching business. Take it from me—I coach hundreds of successful coaches, and guess what? Their businesses all look completely different.
You have the freedom to offer whatever you want and still have success—whether it’s one-on-one coaching, group coaching, live webinars, pre-recorded modules, you name it!

Is it wrong to borrow ideas, listen to opinions, or seek advice when you’re in a rut? Of course not! But don’t blindly follow someone else at the expense of ignoring your own intuition.

You’ll quickly find that it’s so much more fulfilling to run a coaching business when you’re running your own race and doing what you want to do!

2. Be Authentic

No one wants to be coached by a carbon copy of someone else.

Believe me—I’ve mimicked other successful coaches, copied their pitches, and followed their business models. Do you know how that worked out? Well, they had success. I didn’t.

But get this—when I finally started being authentic, my closing rates skyrocketed.

As much as you might wish to replicate someone else’s success, you can’t just copy and paste their formula and expect the same results. It doesn’t work that way!

More than just about anything else, your clients want authenticity. You might not be for everyone and you might not attract every last client. But by being authentic, you’ll attract people who actually like you and like what you do!

Most importantly? You’ll enjoy coaching. It’s liberating to be yourself without the constant pressure of living up to what someone else is doing.

3. Value Your Emotions

If something doesn’t feel right to you, it’s usually for good reason.

Maybe a countdown timer on your website doesn’t feel aligned with you or the clients you’re trying to attract. Perhaps you feel like the marketing tactics that other coaches employ don’t represent you.

And that’s completely fine! You don’t have to do every last thing because you’ve seen it done elsewhere or because someone told you to do it.

And that means self-care.

It’s more than just a trendy buzzword. It’s prioritizing your health and making sure you get plenty of nutrition, exercise, and rest. It’s stepping back, taking a breath, putting the phone down, and letting your mind think about something other than work.

Start by taking an hour each day to decompress. Believe me, you’ll start running your coaching business with more clarity and you’ll be able to overcome the stress, anxiety, and fear that so often weighs you down!
