Content Upgrade – Increase Your Opt-In Rate

The content upgrade technique is pure genius.  The phrase was coined by either Brian Dean from Backlinko or Clay Collins, co-founder of LeadPages, either way both gentlemen are very revolutionary when it comes to landing pages and email opt-in’s.  When they speak it’s time to listen up.

I’ve tried the content upgrade technique with a few clients of mine and it works as well as I had hoped.  Do you want to know how to take the pages on your site with the highest traffic and make them opt-in superstars?  Watch the video below:

Hey it’s One-Click Lindsey with and today I want to give you a little tip on how to get more opt-ins on your website. So, this particular tactic is called a content upgrade and it works really, really well.

First and foremost you need to go to your analytics and find what page has the most traffic. I just did this for a client for a Naturopath up in Canada. We went to her analytics and the page that was getting the most hit was a blog post that she wrote about a year ago about hidden infections. This page was getting about 100 hits a day.

So, we went to that page and we put what was called a content upgrade on it. Essentially, people will read the blog post and at the bottom of the blog post, we’re going to offer them a checklist of 10 ways to know if you have a hidden infection.

A ton of people are opting in and the logic is clear when they are doing that. They’ve read the article, they are super interested and they want to know more so they are going to give you their email address in return for more information. It would work even better if she had a video series or something else, but this is working just great.

So, it’s called content upgrade. You need a page with a lot of traffic and you put a content upgrade on there.
